Weekly Inspiration

I thought you might enjoy a visit to a blog for inspiration this week. The blog is inspiring for a couple of reasons:
One, it has some cool scenics and nature photos…
Two, the author, Steve Maier, has taken a year-long leave of absence from his job to tour the country and photograph it. Many of us wish we could just pack up and go for a year, but few of us actually do. I think that is inspiring. His motto is, “comfort is the enemy of adventure.”
By-the-way, the photographer is my brother.:-)
That address is stevemaier.blogspot.com . Hope it leads you to adventures of your own.
Don’t forget to click the older posts at the bottom of the page button for lots more photos!

Busy, Busy!

Hi All!
I noticed it has been awhile since our last post. The busy season is upon us! Last weekend my son and daughter-in-law, Katie and Sam Sportel, were married. I was not the official photographer, but did manage to sneak a few images of my own…

Some business for PPWM:

There is a training session for the Whispers program Thursday, June 14, at 1:00 in the Spectrum Heart Center. Anyone interested should contact Lisa at 616 634 1401. You may come even if you haven’t contacted anyone, but Lisa would prefer a heads-up if you plan to attend. Any questions should be directed to Lisa.
Thanks!
Also, you will soon get an email re: a date mix-up for our next meeting. We are meeting June 25–not June 18, as stated in the newsletter. Everything else is the same. Don’t forget to call Rob and Becky to let them know you will be attending. Plan to bring lawn chairs and a dish to pass.

Lake Michigan Photo Contest

Hey all. I just heard about a Great Lakes photo contest coming soon to Michigan. They will even have prizes! What better way to help boost your chances for a prize than to attend our June program with Todd and Brad Reed.
Our inspiration this week comes from their website, www.toddandbradreed.com. Plan to attend the event in Ludington on June 25. More information on the PPWM website.
Watch the local media for more information on the contest.

From the Ferret Photographer

Okay, just because everyone will be picking on me for my ferret enthusiasm, I will share one of my very rare and sought after subjects! I traveled all the way to Louisville Zoo where they breed the black footed ferrets to be released into the wild in the prairie states! It was incredibly awesome getting behind the scenes, and achieving ambient light photographs of this endangered species. I wanted to take one home as a pet! This picture was one needed for an upcoming book release that I was commissioned to be the official photographer for! I will let you know, of course, when it is released!
